Experiments in regenerative living | Newsletter #0
A hopeful account of my journey to contribute towards a vibrant future.
Hi friends đđ»!
Happy Tuesday and welcome to the Experiments in Regenerative Living newsletter!
A bit of housekeeping to get us started.
What is this newsletter all about?
I believe the scientists around the world when they say that we have a rough ride coming if we continue to use up the earthâs resources at the current rate. I spend a lot of time thinking about the consequences of climate change, biodiversity loss, decreasing soil richness, plastic pollution and so on. I donât spend a lot of time doing much about it.
This newsletter is therefore a declaration of intent to play around with different tools, technologies and mindsets that are being put forward as pathways to living a more regenerative lifestyle.
Iâm using the word regenerative which has kind of come to mean sustainability++. Sustainability was the hot term when talking about adapting how we live and do business but sadly weâre at a point where sustaining things as they are isnât quite enough any more. We need to go one step further and repair, renew, regenerate some of what weâve already done.
And what is it not?
This newsletter is not a lecture nor a lesson. It is not an attempt to impress you. If it comes across that way at any point please reach out and let me know. Iâm writing this newsletter because I tend to be more interested in reflecting than in doing, so Iâm hoping that having the chance to write the newsletter about what I get up to is a way to lure myself into ongoing action.
How often will it be published?
Every 2 weeks.
How long will each newsletter be?
5 to 10 minutes long. The internet is full of weird and wonderful things to read, watch and listen, all competing for our attention. I want to make the newsletter worthy of your time and promise to keep it short but sweet to help it do so.
Whatâs to come?
I plan to spend each two week period diving into an area to write about, including regenerative money, thriving local economies and bioregionalism, my digital footprint and digital littering, regenerative mental healthcare and a growing list from there.
This opening newsletter will undoubtedly land mainly in front of my friends and family. At this point I ask that you subscribe for me and give the next couple of newsletters, which will arrive in your email over the next few weeks, a read. If itâs not your thing, no hard feelings and thank you for reading, but if you enjoy it then please share it with a friend who you think might like it too!
